Original Poem | overflowing

overflowing

White hot tears
Dripping down.
Overflowing,
Overpowering.

When silence
Is the only sound to be heard for
Months,
And then everything
Comes crashing,
Crashing,
Down,
Like before.

The anger ripples in waves
Sucking the joy,
And carefree,
And calm,
Out in a single
violent breeze.

Can’t you see,
Before you strike me down,
That I’m trying to be me?
I pull myself off the ground,
Just hoping to one day be free
