About Me

Hello! It’s so nice to (virtually) meet you!

My name is Geetanshi and I’m a college student who loves to read and talk about books (especially Young Adult / Victorian Lit!), and write the occasional poem!

I’ve loved to read ever since I can remember, and I started this blog back in 2015 because, not having a lot of other friends who were into reading, I needed a place to vent about my book-related thoughts and feelings. That weebly.com site I created when I was fourteen has taken a life of its own and grown to something I could never have imagined. It’s now my favorite project to work on in my free time, and one of my proudest accomplishments. Now that I’ve begun to analyze literature with a more critical sense in the last few years, I want to share those opinions, along with the dramatic emotional responses to YA-plotlines I feel simultaneously, to create posts that are (I hope) both informative and enjoyable.

Writing poetry is a more recent passion of mine. I don’t profess to be an amazing poet, and it was a while before I felt comfortable sharing my poems, but I now love being able to connect to other people through my writing in that way. ❤

Some more about me not directly related to this blog! I’m currently a rising junior and intended cognitive science major at a university in the United States. I’m hoping to go on to graduate school and study something relating to design and user experience in the future, and one of my favorite things to talk about is how important having an interdisciplinary approach to creating technology is. Other than reading, I also love to dance (mostly awkwardly around my room to my Spotify playlists), sing, play the piano, and design websites!

I’d love to talk to you, so please don’t hesitate to email me or shoot me a DM on instagram if you have a question, or just want to chat!

Q: How do you get your ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies)?
A: I either get them through this website: https://www.netgalley.com/, which is basically a place that allows reviewers, educators, and enthusiasts to connect with publishers and request to read books before they are officially published, or as a result of publishers/authors individually sending me electronic/physical ARCs for me to review.
